http://www.funkytv.com/video/view/1429 - Greenhouse-Effect-Songs 'Winers, Diners, And Social Climbers' LIVE - MANHATTAN BEACH CA / Bmi Music. Captured Live here with Drummer-Martin-Silva, Guitarist Clark Haggans, and Bassist Rick Carmody, G.e. blister through this original song that has no existing version of a studio recording. When Playing Live with their classic 3 piece Line up, G.e. took the "Going Legit" Songs to an entirely new level on stage. "Ben is Dead" and 'Star' both worked extremely well in the Live format as well as the epic "22nd Street". "I thought that 'Dead End Street' really got a lot heavier live and it was really the way that that song was supposed to be and was meant to really sound like" Says Clark Haggins "Though I do like the studio version from 'Legit',...the late 1990 to early 1992 phase of our band I think is our most interesting,....I really think that "America The Beautiful' and 'Wilson Phillips' are some of the best fucking shit that we got ,..so Progressive yet catchy and melodic too,....but "22nd Street" is pure artistic energy ,...though so many people say that it sounds too much like U2, Bowie, and the Cure ,...we really mixed our sounds up,..I have never heard such a so diverse band as us,...I think It's important when people crank up "22nd Street" loud and listen to that whole entire song before judging it completely ,..because it's one of my favorites,.." The Live G.e. was very different from the studio recorded band where-as in the days of Phil Keegan on guitar,..it was practically identical and consistent with the studio albums; "I wanted to break out and change all that,...nothing against Keegan ,..but I wanted a band that could get on the radio yet still be progressive enough to satisfy a Captain Beyond fan (Laughs)" says Haggins "And that's where 'America the Beautiful' comes in !!" 'Winers, Diners, & Social Climbers' was an arrangement worked out when the band played with Punk Drummer Greggie Tarpley in early 1991 ,..who also played drums on much of 'Going Legit'; "I couldn't decide who was the better drummer because both Marty and Greg were so incredible,..in the end, they both just split and went on to other bands (Laughs),..it was a bummer,..man" ROCK CITY ENTERTAINMENT , BOSTON. // Greenhouse-Effect-Songs 'Winers, Diners, And Social Climbers' LIVE - MANHATTAN BEACH CA / Bmi Music.
